Proclaim Aviation Ministries is working together with Moody Aviation to bring N185PR back into full time missionary service! This airplane has a special history in the fact it was named after Paul Robinson (N185PR), the founder of Moody Aviation. Following service in Honduras with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), the airplane was brought to the Elizabethton, TN facility and completely refurbished to “new” condition by Moody Aviation. When Moody Aviation’s program was relocated to Spokane, Washington in 2005, they had to reluctantly sell N185PR.
Recently Moody received a phone call from the gentleman who purchased N185PR in 2005, and he informed them that he is selling the airplane and would like to see it go back to Moody Aviation if they were interested. The timing could not have been better, as the current 185 that they are leasing for training will no longer be available come this summer of 2010! Likewise, Proclaim has a critical need for this type of airplane, as all of our candidates that go with JAARS, MAF, or Africa Inland Mission need to be proficient in tailwheel aircraft! Moody has approached Proclaim to partner together in bringing this airplane back into full time mission service.
The current owner of N185PR has graciously offered Proclaim 1 year to raise the funds for acquisition of the airplane, based on a $10,000 dollar down payment. The agreements have been finalized, and the initial payment was made; the clock is now ticking! Although the current owner has given us 1 year to raise the funds, Moody Aviation desperately needs the airplane by July 2010 to meet current curriculum needs. God is able to meet that timeframe, and it will be exciting to see the details work out in His timing! The total project goal is to raise $160,000 dollars to cover the cost of the airplane (140K), Washington “Use” tax (10k), Insurance, travel and delivery cost of the airplane (10k).
Please pray with us and consider making a donation to help train a new generation of mission aviators
